Description
In 1883, the American Jewish poet Emma Lazarus contributed this sonnet to a fundraiser for the Statue of Libery, and it has since become one of the most well-known and beloved symbols of American ideals. This edition sets the full text (in Bernhard Gothic, designed by German-Jewish immigrant Lucian Bernhard) atop a linocut by Aaron Silver of Lady Liberty’s iconic hand and torch.
